The most popular attraction of Ooty is the 22 hectare Government Botanical Gardens( there is flower show in the summer time between the months of April -May), you can also cruise along the lake by boating, and also climbing the most famous peak Doadanetta for a impeccable view of the Nigilgiri hills, you can travel to Ooty by taking the toy train from Metupalaiyam.

Kanyakumari is also known for the most famous Gandhi Memorial , with its finest architecture resembling that of an Orissan temple. When you visit Kanyakumari the best time is in April , you go out on a full moon night, and enjoy the majestic beauty of the sun set & the moon rising simultaneously over the ocean.

San Thome Basilica

The church of Santhome was built during the period of the 14th to 15th century AD by the Portuguese,the cathedral is near to the beach and got its name from St. Thomas, the disciple , who is known as doubting Thomas. Close to the cathedral is a museum which is located in the high grounds nearby, and the main attraction , is the map of South Asia, which shows Santhome Cathedral as one of the most prominent attractions in Chennai.

The Santhome Church , is an international Shrine ,has a miraculous touch , there is an underground tomb chapel where pilgrims can pray in front of the sepulcher, people according to a superstition believe that the sand taken from the tomb has miraculous healing powers. The myth behind the story is that anyone suffering physically, if give a portion of the sand , by the healing power of God through the intervention of St. Thomas , would be instantaneous healed , people who believe have to wait several years to get a little sand from the tomb, as it is only opened at certain times during the year.
